SNU Dominates 'Global Ph.D. Scholarship'
SNU students were greatest in number among those selected, with 67 students (22.3%), while students of KAIST and POSTECH followed, with 56 and 30 respectively. The results showed that 80.5% of the selected students are under the age of 30, 60% were male, and 62% of them were from universities in or around the nation’s capital.

Mother Makes Donation After Her Son's Death
Mrs. Kim has a new ritual: three times a day, she pours fresh water in a cup her son regularly used to drink from. The cup is placed in front of her beloved son's gallant picture. "He would often call for me when he got thirsty, and I would bring him fresh water in this cup", she endearingly reminisced, as she cradled her precious son’s photograph.

Prof. HYEON Joined World Top 100 Chemists
HYEON Taeghwan, SNU Distinguished Professor of chemical engineering, has joined the world's top 100 chemists. Thomson Reuters published a table of "Top 100 Chemists, 2000-2010" which listed 100 scientists who achieved the highest citation impact scores for chemistry papers.

A Campus Couple Donates Two Billion to Alma Mater
LEE Soon-Ja, Sookmyung Women’s University honorary professor in the Department of Library and Information Sciences, who lost her husband KIM Jae-Ik in the 1983 Aung San terrorist bombing (also known as the Rangoon Bombing) in Burma, has donated two billion KRW to her and her husband’s alma mater SNU.
