Where the Temple of Light Rises Like Fire
Poet CHUNG Hee Seong (class of 1968, Korean Literature) was a graduate student aged 26 when he was asked by SNU administration to write a poem about SNU to celebrate the relocation of its campus.

SNU Hospital Helps Advance Korean Medical Technology Worldwide
SNU Hospital recently signed a MoU (a memorandum of understanding) with Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a global independent safety science company, in order to help the advancement of Korean medical devices to overseas markets, in particular, the US. Director BANG Young Joo of SNU Hospital and President Upayan SENGUPTA of UL Health Science signed the MoU on the 10th of November. Prior to the agreement, the companies received approval from the USFDA.

We attribute much of our contemporary Korean education system – the theory-based, rote learning methods – to Confucian ideals. However, it is this same Confucius - teacher, philosopher, and politician - who emphasised the importance of practical learning as evinced in his quote, “I hear and I forget. I see and I remember.
