Official website of Seoul National University, which won the iF Design Award 2021 in communication design
Seoul National University (SNU) announced that its official website won the iF Design Award 2021 in the communication design category.
Germany’s iF Design Award, known as the Oscars in the world of design, is one of the top three design awards along with the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) and the Red Dot Design Award. SNU’s website is the first among Korean universities to win a design award.
SNU’s official website (Korean: www.snu.ac.kr English: en.snu.ac.kr) was highly rated for its unique opening video, consistent layout, and left-side navigation bar, which reflects the latest user experience trend.
An SNU personnel said, “Our website focuses on education, research, and sharing—the primary roles of the university—and has been designed for optimal user experience. It helps to create a positive first impression, and we will strive to continue providing quality content.”
Entries to the iF Design Award are evaluated by 98 judges from 20 countries. The nine categories are product, packaging, communication, concept, interior, architecture, service design, user experience (UX), and user interface (UI). This year’s competition attracted over 10,000 entries from 52 countries.
