Ever Heard of the SNU Career Development Center?

Since July 1, the SNU Career Development Center (Director, Professor KIM Taewan, Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering) has been conducting a PR tour around each college building in order to heighten students’ recognition of the center, as well as to encourage participation in career counseling and employment planning programs that the center provides.

The Career Development Center provides employment support services for SNU students and graduates through capacity building programs such as career counseling sessions, one-on-one employment consulting sessions, and resume clinics. The Center also holds a number of employment-related events such as invitational talks with professionals in various occupations, field-trips to corporations, and the SNU Career Fair. Especially, three employment support officers backed by the Ministry of Employment and Labor are at the center to help students undertaking career planning with their professional services in employment consulting, resume drafting and interview preparation.

The P.R. tour takes place every Wednesday at a different college, from 11:30 to 13:30 (2 hrs.), and refreshments are provided to students who participate in the event. The tour is scheduled to continue until July 27, which makes for 9 sessions in total. Beginning with the College of Engineering, the Career Development Center has held sessions at the College of Natural Sciences, the College of Human Ecology, the College of Law, the College of Social Sciences, and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, providing individual employment consultations to over 600 students and conducting surveys on the students’ recognition of and satisfaction with the center and its services. The results of these surveys will be considered so as to provide better support to students in the future.

The schedule for the remainder of the Career Development Center’s tour is as follows:
- July 13th at College of Music
- July 20th at College of Humanities
- July 27th at College of Education
