SNU Ranks 24th in World University Rankings of SCI Publication



Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has released its annual report on analysis of SCI data. The report said SNU ranks 24th in the world in terms of the number of SCI papers presented.

The ministry has worked on the SCI (Science Citation Index) CD-Rom 2007 Edition and NSI (National Science Indicator) DB of the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI).

In the analysis, SNU produced 4,291 SCI papers in 2007, a number increased by 18% compared to the previous year’s 3,635. It placed SNU 24th in the world university rankings of this year, up from 32nd in 2007.

Harvard University topped the list again with 10,258 papers, followed by University of Tokyo (7,308) and University of Toronto (6,170).

The ministry said that they are conducting further analysis on the data and the result will be released on December of this year.
