The SNU School of Law and Harvard Law School have concluded an agreement that will allow students from both schools to participate in an exchange program, beginning this year.

Chong Jong-Sup, dean of the SNU School of Law, and Martha Minow, dean of Harvard Law School, finalized and signed the agreement on January 18 of this year.

Both schools will carefully select a group of students to participate in the exchange program for one or two semesters. These students will have the opportunity to attend the partner institution without paying an additional tuition fee.

Furthermore, students will be allowed to use all university facilities, such as libraries and residence halls, and in the case of SNU exchange students, will be free to take the same classes as regular Harvard law students. The courses they take will be acknowledged and credited by their original universities.

In addition, professors of both universities will participate in the exchange program through lectures and joint research projects.

It is reported that the SNU School of Law is evaluating a proposal which would allow Harvard Law School students on exchange to have internship opportunities in prestigious Korean law firms.

Overall, SNU and Harvard hope that the exchange program will help students to prepare themselves for practicing law in a global context.
