Prof. CHUNG Became the Director of National Museum of Contemporary Art, and others

Professor CHUNG Hyung Min Became the Director of National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea
Professor CHUNG Hyung Min of the Department of Oriental Painting was appointed as the Director of the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea on January 19. The Museum is considered as one of the three-most-renowned-museums in Korea along with the National Museum of Korean (in Yongsan) and Seoul Museum of Art. It is first time in its history to have a female director. Professor Chung has also served as the Director of SNU Museum of Art (MoA) since 2006.

The Late Professor SHYNNE Gwanghyun Granted Wooho Award
The late Professor SHYNNE Gwanghyun of the Department of English Language and Literature, who passed away last July, posthumously awarded the Wooho Academic Award (Contribution Award). The Wooho Humanities Award was also given by the Wooho Cultural Foundation in honor of the late SHIN Hyun-hwak, who cherished the humanities and was aware of their importance. This award was introduced in 2008 with the aim of encouraging academic research in the humanities.

Professor KIM YungSik and Professor HONG Byung Hee Granted Kyung Ahm Academic Award
Professor KIM YungSik and Professor HONG Byung Hee were awarded the 7th Kyung Ahm Academic Award in the humanities and social sciences and in the natural sciences, respectively. The Kyung Ahm Academic Award is given in recognition of those who have contributed to the academic and artistic advancement of Korea. The Kyung Ahm Education & Culture Foundation was established by SONG Geum-jo, who founded the Taeyang Group in 2005 and donated a hundred billion won for the establishment of the foundation.
