The 6th Annual Winter Vacation Program for Adolescents, which lasted for two weeks, was wrapped up with great satisfaction on the part of the students. There were 5 lectures including 'The Universe and Life', 'History Class for Adolescents', 'Chemistry: Revealing Life’s Mysteries', 'Philosophy Class for Adolescents: I Defy Philosophy Therefore I Do Philosophy', and 'Introduction to Virology'.
Despite the lingering cold weather, students participated so eagerly that the attendance rate for every course exceeded 90%.
CHOI Seung-hwan (18), who took the course 'The Universe and Life' expressed his satisfaction by saying,"Unlike high school lectures dividing science into physics, chemistry, earth science, and biology, here we could learn about the beginning of the universe to the emergence of life in a way combining all four fields."
The Vacation Program for High School Students takes place throughout the vacation period to give students the opportunity to have access to college lectures and academic disciplines in advance in order to enable them to plan their career paths more efficiently.
Meanwhile, from Monday, January 16, 'Introduction to Immunology - The Science of Blood', 'Art Class for Adolescents - Art and Society', and 'Creative Thinking and Expression - Communication Skills' will be offered, with 'Myth, Multi-dimensional Science, and Interdisciplinary Imagination' began on January 26.
Course enrollment is possible through the Internet (http://LLL.snu.ac.kr) or by visiting the Extension College office. Office hours are 10AM to 6PM, Monday through Friday.
