Bioengineering Center for Animal Resource Development
The Center for Animal Resource Development of SNU BioMAX, established in 2002, is the largest bio-engineering facility in Korea for supplying experiment animals. It functions as the laboratory for producing and caring for specific transgenic experiment animals.
It supports bioengineering research by means of 4,000 cages for 250 kinds of transgenic knock out mice numbering 20,000 in total annually. Also, it supplies SPF miniature pigs for scientific experiments.
The center has engaged in research support involving 19 embryo transfers, 80 cases of embryo cryopreservation and 15 transgenic mouse supplies.
The Center for Animal Resource Development is open to all SNU researchers. Not only does it provide experiment animals, but also further medical biology research support. For efficient research, Professor LEE Wang Jae and other researchers are dedicated to recruit experts of transgenic experiment for consulting.
