SNU and Prestigious Universities Agree to Exchange Students
SNU has agreed to exchange students with foreign universities including Johns Hopkins University, Illinois State University (Urbana-Champaign), Virginia University, Washington State University, Colorado State University, and Alberta University.
KIM Jun Ki, the head of the Office of International Affairs, participated in the conference held by the National Association of Foreign Student Affairs (NAFSA) and discussed a potential student exchange program with 24 universities (10 from the United States, 5 from the UK, and from Australia, Switzerland, and Sweden two from each country).
Among these, SNU confirmed the establishment of student exchange programs with the six abovementioned universities. In particular, the student exchange program with Johns Hopkins University, which ranked 17th in the 2010 QS World University Rankings, is expected to start fall semester of 2012. Dr. Lori Citti at Johns Hopkins University showed much interest in research cooperation with SNU and also suggested a special exchange program for undergraduate students of both universities.
Also, Alberta University, with which SNU agreed on an academic exchange program in 2003, and SNU agreed to sign into effect the new student exchange program this coming August when Alberta University’s vice president visits SNU.
The Office of International Affairs has been selecting prestigious universities in regions students most want to go as a part of its globalization strategy.
