The Central Library of SNU is now providing the software EndNote, the program that helps researchers to efficiently manage bibliographies when writing papers, as well as a program that teaches students how to use the software. And the teaching program is receiving very positive reviews from students.

The EndNote teaching program is divided into three categories: basic, intermediate, and advanced, so that the teaching can be tailored to a user’s ability.

The basic course deals with the collection of references and basics of paper citation by means of EndNote. The intermediate course teaches more advanced functions of EndNote and how to edit a citation or a reference. On the other hand, the advanced course focuses on the method of revising the output style to be in accordance with the style guidelines of papers.

The Central Library also has been providing VOD services that include an introduction, user guidelines, and tips for using EndNote successfully since February. Each of the educational videos that can be found on the webpage of the Central Library (http://library.snu.ac.kr) is about a certain sub-content of basic education, so that a user can select specific content that he or she needs and relearn it again and again.

The VOD service started in November 2010. The number of users is increasing every month, and as of late May 2011 more than 30 thousand students had taken advantage of the service.
