A series of intellectual concerts are under way, as the Distinguished Lecture Series funded by the World Class University (WCU) Project marks the beginning of the new academic year. Four prominent scholars from overseas, including Professor Kurt Wuthrich, the 2002 Nobel Laureate in chemistry, will deliver lectures in March on the latest research in their fields of study.
The series will kick off with Professor Wuthrich's views on"new opportunities and challenges in structural genomics," followed by an interesting lecture on"pain and the brain" delivered by Professor Min Zhuo from the University of Toronto, who is also a WCU Professor of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at SNU.
The next speaker, Professor James E. Womack, Distinguished Professor and W.P. Luse Professor of Pathobiology at Texas A&M University, will share fascinating discoveries in"cattle-specific evolutionary breakpoints." And Professor Fuller W. Bazer, Distinguished Professor and O.D. Butler Chair of the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University, will do the finale by presenting his research on"Pregnancy Recognition Signaling in Mammals."
The lectures will be held every Wednesday from March 10th to the 31st at 4 P.M. at the Center for Teaching & Learning (Bldg. 61).
