SNU-Intel Collaboration

Currently ranked 27th in the field of IT & Engineering (2009 Times Higher Education - QS World University Ranking), the College of Engineering is taking another step forward.

On Dec 10, 2009, the College of Engineering and Intel signed a MOU on the Intel Academic Program to collaborate on the development of a new paradigm for multi-core architecture and parallel programming.

According to the MOU, Intel will design a curriculum on multi-core computing for SNU students studying computer science and electrical engineering.

The course will aim to deepen students’ understanding of multi-core architecture, the importance of parallelization, and concepts and methodology of multi-spreading. Moreover, instructions on practical techniques such as analyzing the multi-core platform using various software tools will be given as well.

Professor KANG Tae-jin, Dean of the College of Engineering, expects this to be an excellent opportunity for students to prepare themselves for their careers in the latest technology.
