The Institute of Communication Research of SNU will train seven selected journalists who have been invited to participate in the SNU-LG Press Fellowship Program.

The SNU-LG Fellowship is an annual program which provides international journalists with an opportunity to further learn more about Korea and promotes cross-cultural interaction and cooperation.

Over the years, participants have come from Brazil, Poland, India, the Philippines, China, Vietnam, and Indonesia, all countries which engage in active economic cooperation with Korea.

The journalists will first spend two weeks on the SNU campus, receiving lectures and participating in workshops.

SNU professors of political science and economics will give lectures covering topics such as ethics of journalism and economic development in Korea. 

The workshops allow participants to get to know one another better and to compare the current state of journalism in their respective countries.

Between lectures the Fellows will visit local broadcasting and newspaper companies.

The Fellows will also go on a tour to the historic city of Kyeongju and the beautiful island of Jeju during the third week of the program.

The SNU-LG Fellowship program has trained 113 international journalists from 14 different countries since it was established in 1997.
