SNU College of Pharmacy signed an academic exchange agreement with College of Pharmacy of Tokushima University, Japan. It proceeded on November 21, with Younggeo Seo, Dean of College of Pharmacy of SNU and Yoshihisa Takaishi, Chief of College of Pharmacy of Tokushima University at presence along with other faculties from both universities.
According to the agreement, the two universities agreed on collaboration on researches by exchanging professors, undergraduate and postgraduate students, interchanging academic information and knowledge, and by holding joint lectures and seminars.
The agreement includes cooperative efforts such as professors visiting each other’s university every year to present the papers on current researches at their universities to share information. SNU is making a start on January 2008. Three professors from College of Pharmacy of SNU will visit Tokushima University and will present and discuss their current studies and researches. Other specific cooperation plans on how to progress academic exchange program was agreed to be arranged further in a near future.
“I hope that the two Universities can cooperate successfully on joint researches and other areas through this agreement and that this cooperation can initiate and support global partnership in the field of pharmacy,” said Seo.
College of Pharmacy of SNU and College of Pharmacy of Tokushima University first concluded an academic exchange agreement on July, 1990 and it has been renewed for three times since then.
On the other hand, the Yoshihisa Takaishi party including vice-president of Tokushima University visited Yang Guk, dean of Research Affairs of SNU to discuss comprehensive academic exchanges between the two universities.
