Seoul National University, Korea's Most Prestigious Universities, Selects Procera Networks
A pioneering developer of intelligent network traffic and service management infrastructure equipment, announced that Korea's undisputed leader in research and higher education, Seoul National University, has selected PacketLogic for management and control of their campus network traffic. With this deployment, Procera Networks has taken the leadership position in the traffic management market targeted at educational institutions in Korea.
Seoul National University has been searching for the most suitable solution to their large and complex network for years. Taking into consideration the various categories of Internet users within the campus (students, professors, staffs and etc.) along with enormous number of applications used, Seoul National University was in serious need of an advanced traffic management solution, and chose PacketLogic due to its ability to perform very detailed traffic analysis, granular shaping, application filtering, and prioritizing of users or applications as required. Since the installation of PacketLogic at the end of last year, Seoul National University has gained total control of their network and was able to reduce bandwidth usage by at least 20%.
Seoul National University is now in process of implementing two additional PacketLogic systems to complete the project.
The solution was deployed by Procera Networks' distributor in Korea, iTEC Technologies."PacketLogic monitors network traffic and provides usage reports that help Seoul National University analyze traffic patterns and predict bandwidth requirements," said IS Song, CEO of iTEC Technologies. PacketLogic ensures quality of service (QoS) policies set guaranteed minimum bandwidth levels to critical end-users and applications. It also limits the bandwidth for non educational related traffic during peak usage hours."
"Obtaining accurate network intelligence about user and application traffic is a critical first step to managing bandwidth resources and assuring quality of experience," said Mikael Herrlin, Territory Sales Manager at Procera Networks."PacketLogic solutions are specifically designed for complex networks with diverse users. PacketLogic is well suited for high tech Universities like Seoul National University which require fulfilling staff and student expectations and demands, without over-investing in additional bandwidth resources."
