SNU establishes one-year master of business administration courses for the first time in Korea.
Students will be able to obtain double master's degrees from foreign universities' MBA courses such as Duke University in the U.S.
SNU will operate the MBA courses starting next semester following provisional approval from the Education and Human Resources Development Ministry in March.
The study period will be one year, like MBA courses in Europe, rather than the two-year courses in the United States.
Those who graduate with a four-year university degree will be entitled to apply with the school giving preference to those who emplyed at companies, government agencies and non-governmental organizations longer than two years.
Applicants must submit results of their Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the Test of English Proficiency developed by SNU (TEPS), taken within the last two years.
SNU has decided to open two MBA courses: a global MBA program in which all classes will be in English, and a junior-executive MBA program which will not attach as much importance to English skills.
The global MBA program, opening at the end of August, will include foreign professors from prestigious overseas graduate schools of business administration.
Students will also be able to obtain master's degrees from foreign universities' MBA courses such as Duke University in the U.S.
The junior-executive MBA program will open in the middle of January next year. It will focus on Korean-style business practice and examples.
The school fee has yet to be decided.
