SNU International Summer Session Program

The summer program at SNU provides an opportunity for students from abroad to participate in both undergraduate and graduate classes offered in SNU‘s summer session. Application deadline is April 25.

(1) Program Overview
The summer program at SNU provides an opportunity for students from abroad to participate in both undergraduate and graduate classes offered in SNU‘s summer session.

(2) Requirements
Non-Korean students who have completed at least one semester in their degree related course and currently attending a university outside Korea. Therefore, only persons who have a non-Korean passport can apply to the 2006 SNU Summer Session Program.

(3) Documents for Application
① One completed Application Form
② A Certificate of Enrollment from the university that you are currently attending
③ An Official University Transcript
④ One photo copy of the applicant's valid passport
Note:
- In filling out ①, please download the application form and fill them out properly, and print out a copy.
- Include ① with the rest of the application materials as stated in ② through ④ and send it by registered or express mail to:

Important: We will send a receipt note within 2 working days from the time that Ms. Kim receives your application. If you have sent your application early enough but have not received an email from us, it is highly recommended that you check if your documents are properly sent.

(4) Admission Time Table

May 8 ~ 12 Course Registration (Online)
May 16 1st Announcement of Course Cancellation by SNU*
May 22 ~ 24 1st Course change period (online)
May 29 ~ June 2 Payment of Tuition Fee
June 9 2nd Announcement of Course Cancellation by SNU
June 13~14 2nd Course change period (for the cancelled courses only)
* SNU registrar makes it a rule to cancel the courses when less than 20 students are registered for that course. We will post the course codes & titles of courses canceled by SNU through OIA website (http://oia.snu.ac.kr) notice page.
You must check whether the courses you have selected have been cancelled during the period indicated above. If the courses you have applied to are cancelled by SNU, you can select another course or you can get refund of the tuition fee in case you have already paid for that course. To learn more about this, please refer to section (8) & (9).

(5) Limits for Credit Registration
1) Bachelor's Degree: Up to 9 credit points
2) Master's Degree: Up to 9 credit points

Syllabi of the courses are offered in Korean Only.
2) Course Registration
You can register for courses online (http://sugang.snu.ac.kr) during the course registration period (8 ~ 12 May). The necessary information for logging-in to the above site will be emailed to you along with the acceptance notification.
Important: This website will only operate during the course registration period.

(7) Tuition Fee and Payment Process
1) Tuition Fee : (All payments should be made in Korean won)
① Lecture ₩ 67,500 (per credit)
② Practical Training, Lab ₩ 72,500 (per credit)
Note: Courses such as Bowling or Swimming which need to borrow facilities off campus may request additional fees.
2) You can download your tuition payment notice from our website. Please print out your tuition payment notice and bring it to the Nonghyup bank on campus with the amount of tuition fee from 29 May to 2 June, 09:30 ~ 16:30.
If you cannot visit the Nonghyup bank on campus during the tuition payment period, you can wire your tuition payment to the account below and we can make the payment on behalf of you. Please note that the transaction should be completed by 1 June when you wire your tuition fee. Please note that if you do not pay the full amount of the tuition fee, we will not be able to process fee payment. Please pick up your payment receipt at the OIA from 10 June onwards:

The name of wirer should include last 3 digits of your student ID given by SNU and your name in it. Your name can be truncated if your name has more than 5 letters. If the tuition fee is not paid within the registration period, all the application processes are cancelled automatically.

(8) Fee Refunds
Tuition Fee is non-refundable except following cases:
1) Canceled subjects
2) When requested to the OIA for a refund before 16 June
Tuition fee will be fully refunded. Procedures for this will be posted later
3) In case of emergencies, i.e, serious illness, death, natural disaster or required military service
Tuition refund time line
- Before 1/3 line of Summer Session: 2/3 of the Fee will be refunded.
- Before 1/2 line of Summer Session: 1/2 of the Fee will be refunded.
- After 1/2 line of Summer Session: No refund.
In order to receive tuition fee refunds, you must fill out the 'fee refunding form (SNU form)'. You can ask the OIA through email (summer@snu.ac.kr) for more detailed instructions, you can visit the OIA and our staff members will help you fill out the refund form.

(9) Changing or Cancelling Courses
1) 1st Course Changing period is 22 ~ 24 May. To change courses, please browse the website, http://sugang.snu.ac.kr You can change up to 2 courses or 6 credits in total.
2) After the 1st Course Changing period, changing to other subjects is possible if and only if the courses are canceled by SNU. If your selected course has been cancelled, you can select another course if you desire. In this case, please fill out the course change request form and submit it to OIA by email or fax. Please note that during the 2nd Course change period, the substitute course must have the same amount of tuition fee as the course that was cancelled.
3) If you should decide to cancel a course when the summer program session has already started, you must complete a course cancellation form signed by the professor teaching that course and submit it to the registrar's office (Building number 60, 1st floor) no later than the 10 July. In this case, the tuition fee is non-refundable.

(10) Issuing English Transcripts
After 1 September 2006, transcripts both in Korean and in English will be available to you. Please refer to the following website for more details:

The procedure of checking grades online will be email to you along with acceptance notification.

(11) Student Housing
Unfortunately, campus housing for summer program students is not available at this time. Please refer to the following website for information on off-campus housing: http://www.snulife.com. Please also be aware that SNU is not responsible for off-campus housing arrangements made by summer session program students.

(12) Facilities Available
Some on-campus facilities are available during Summer Session Period. You can use those facilities by showing your passport and the receipt from SNU's summer session program. Please make sure to pick up your receipt from the OIA as soon as arrive to SNU.
1) The SNU-POSCO Center
The SNU-POSCO Sports Center is equipped with a swimming pool, an indoor golf driving range, a fitness center, a sauna, etc., and provides various athletic and recreational programs for its members.
2) PC & Printing Service
Students can use PCs and printers in the PC labs and computing labs within the campus.
The multimedia room (Room No.104) at the Computer Center(Bldg. No. 121) is open from 7 am to 11 pm. The multimedia room at the university library is open between 9 am and 10 pm. Most PC labs on campus provide printing services.
3) Wireless LAN
Wireless LANs and KT Nespot are available on campus. KT netspot is available at additional fee.
