On August 29 at 10:30 a.m., SNU held its 71st Graduation Ceremony at the SNU gymnasium. 838 bachelor’s, 1023 master’s, and 607 doctoral degrees were conferred upon a total of 2468 graduating students.
At the ceremony, SNU President Sung Nak-In emphasized in his speech that rather than prioritizing success, students should approach life with the attitude of optimizing each and every situation they come across. He also wished upon the students that they be received with open arms wherever they go.
Professor Song Ho-Keun of the Department of Sociology also gave a speech to the graduating class. He highlighted the importance of always keeping an open heart in preparation for the unpredictable future. After a speech from the valedictorian, the ceremony proceeded to recognize all of the various departments at SNU and the top graduating students from each department.
