SNU President SUNG Nak-in and Yale University President Peter SALOVEY discussed plans for international exchange programs and ideas to enhance cooperation between the two esteemed institutions.
The two presidents had previously met at the inauguration ceremony of Yale-NUS College at the National University of Singapore in October last year.
On June 24 at Yale University (USA), the two presidents met and shared their views on the educational environment of the 21st century. They also discussed measures to cultivate leadership among students and foster “good-willed, brilliant minds” in the education of the new generation. Consequently, they also agreed upon common educational objectives and established agendas to actualize the international exchange programs.
After this exchange, President Sung Nak-in proceeded to Philadelphia on June 25 to participate in the General Assembly SNU Alumni Association in the USA.
The actualization of this international exchange program will provide a valuable experience for SNU students to receive an Ivy League education, and for Yale students to attend one of Asia’s best universities.
