Application Guidelines for the Use of Gallery Space of Korean Foundation Cultural Center

The Korea Foundation Cultural Center(http://www.kfcenter.or.kr)  supports gallery space for organizations seeking to promote intercultural understanding through exhibitions. It makes its space and facilities available for events that promote cultural and international exchanges. It has an exhibition hall, two seminar rooms and a 60-seated cinema room. Organization with a mandate to promote international exchange (e.g., foreign embassies in Korea) and international friendship association may apply to use its space for events or meetings related to international exchange.

The application guidelines for the use of exhibition galleries in 2009 are for the following.

Application Period  May 1st to june 30, 2008

Deicision Notification  July 31, 2008

Types of exhibitions
The Center’s gallery space is available to organizations seeking to promote intercultural understanding through exhibitions of paintings, sculptures, photos, installations, relics, folk art and crafts.

Eligibility
Foreign Embassies in Korea, international friendship associations, and international cultural and arts organizations may apply to hold exhibitions at the Center.

Exhibition period and operation hours
The exhibition period should be no less than 10 days to no more than 2 months. The center opens Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.(until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesdays.) The Center is closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Facilities
Gallery space consists of two galleries, Nuri (395㎡) and Areum (263㎡), in total, 658㎡. Applicants may use either of the two galleries, or both for a larger exhibition.

Accompanying programs
If lectures, workshop or other visual material screenings such as DVDs accompany the exhibitions, applicants may use the cinema room and/or seminar room on the 2nd floor at the Center. Prior to arranging extra programs such as ceremonies and openings, please consult the Center.
