Restriction on Issuing of Certificates to Students with Prolonged Library Books

Due to prolonged borrowing of library books, Seoul National University Libraries are facing difficulties in the management and organization of library materials. Therefore, starting on March 3, 2008, students with overdue books for prolonged periods will not be able to purchase any of their university certificates including certificate of graduation.

1. Restriction on the Issuing of Certificates

-The rule will become effective March 3, 2008.

-Students with prolonged books over 400 days are subject to this rule. (Including students who have returned books but have not paid overdue fees)

2. Lifting Restriction on the Issuing of Certificates

- Upon the return of borrowed books or payment of late fee.

- If there is difficulty returning the borrowed book, one may sign a note of confirmation declaring to return the book. This is a onetime pass to forego the restriction. This note of confirmation is available at the circulation desk.

- Restriction can be lifted through replacing a lost book with a substitute book or depositing the reimbursement to Shinhan Bank (Bank Account # 100-022-666604).

Graduates can pay online by logging into the Seoul National University Library website using their social security number.
