Workshop for Master’s Program at University of Tokyo, Engineering

The workshop for the master s program at a Graduate School of Engineering in University of Tokyo, supported by the Department of Science, Japanese Government, will be held as follows.

1. Date: Friday, May 5th 2009 4 P.M

2. Location: Bldg #39, Room #238

3. The entrance examination:
- The entrance exam will be held twice a year.

- One is during the last part of August or the first part of September (in Tokyo) and the other one is during
the first part of February (in Tokyo and China).

- The August examination is given under the same conditions as for Japanese students, and the February
examination is a special examination for foreign students.

4. Examination subjects:
- TOEFL
- Written tests of analytical skills and short essays (given in Japanese, but can be answered in English)
- Interview (given in Japanese, or English if there is serious problem with Japanese)

5. Language course:
Special Training course of Japanese Language is provided.

6. Japanese Business Practice course:
The course gives students an understanding of the characteristics of Japanese business, and knowledge
of advanced technologies of Japanese companies.

7. Internship at Japanese companies:

A special internship program will be offered with the cooperation of partnership companies of the program
as follows.

(1) Electronics related: Fujitsu, Hitachi, Mitsubishi Electric, NEC
(2) Nissan Motors Corporation
(3) Trading companies: Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsui & Co.
(4) International law firms:
(Sasajima & Associates; Sera, Toyama, Matsukura & Kawaguchi; Sato & Associates; Taiyo,
Nakajima and Kato; Riverflow International Patent Firm)

8. Career Development Assistance
Full support is provided to help foreign students find employment in Japanese companies.
