2024 Kyujanggak UNESCO Memory of the World Collection <Archives of Korea, Memories of the World>
SNU Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies hosts a special exhibition with the Kyujanggak UNESCO Memory of the World Collection. The collection consists of 조선왕조실록(Annals of the Joseon Dynasty), 승정원일기(Diaries of the Royal Secretariat), 일성록(Records of Daily Lives of Kings), 조선왕조의궤(Royal Protocols of the Joseon Dynasty), 조선통신사기록물(Records of Joseon Missionaries to Japan), 동학농민혁명기록물(Records of Donghak Peasant Revolution).
Memories of the world have been preserved through archives, connecting the past and present and playing an essential role in creating the future. We hope this exhibition will be an opportunity to examine and contemplate the era and show the importance of the culture of keeping records from a universal perspective across the boundaries of space and time.
