The Korean Literature Translation Institute will provide an intensive translation course for various languages this summer. The languages offered will be English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Japanese. The course will train students for the purposes of introducing Korean literature and cultural arts to foreign countries. Translating text is a crucial process in sharing Korean culture, and we encourage students to take advantage of this opportunity to become an active participant in the global community. Registration fee: 100,000 won
Course dates: Monday, June 9th ~ Friday, August 22nd on Wednesdays and Thursdays
Course location: Korean Literature Translation Academy Education Center
Samsung-dong, Kangnam-gu, Seoul (서울시 강남구 삼성동)

Course content:
Wednesday - Translation methods (4 hours)
Thursday - Korean literature and culture & Introduction to translation
Translation Camp -
Dates: Tuesday, July 15th ~ Friday, July 18th
Location:
(강원도 인제군 소재 ‘만해문학관’)
Content: translation workshops and seminars held by domestic translators

Application Process
Approximately ten students will be selected for each language. Courses will not be offered if less than 3 students apply. The required forms for application are listed below.
1) Application Form (available at www.klti.or.kr)
2) Self-Introduction essay written in Korean, including the purpose of taking the course (3 pages, A4)
3) Sample translation of the provided article권여선 ‘사랑을 믿다’ (‘I believe in love’ by Kwon, Yeo-sun) (minimum 2 pages, A4)
