Since 2020, the Yulchon Foundation (Nongshim Group) has been awarding the Yulchon AI Scholarship to foster outstanding AI talent for national development. The scholarship is administered through the SNU AI Institute. Applications are now open for the Fall 2025 term.
1. Scholarship Overview
1.1. Yulchon AI Young Researcher

For students demonstrating outstanding achievements in AI+X research, where AI is applied to their major field (X).

Eligibility: SNU undergraduate or graduate students (including doctoral candidates; excluding alternative military service researchers) from any department.

Award: KRW 8,000,000 (one-time payment)

Number of recipients: Approximately 10

Note: Students receiving living-expense scholarships from other foundations or companies are not eligible.
1.2. Yulchon AI Star

For students engaged in core AI research with publications in top-tier conferences or equivalent achievements.

Eligibility: SNU graduate students (including doctoral candidates; excluding alternative military service researchers) in AI-related departments.

Award: KRW 8,000,000 (one-time payment)

Number of recipients: Approximately 10

Note: Past recipients are not eligible again, even with new achievements.
Applicants may choose which scholarship to apply for. The committee may reassign categories based on research content.

4. Recipient Responsibilities

Conduct research faithfully according to submitted plans.

Present research at least once if requested by the SNU AI Institute.

Attend the award ceremony and related events.

No obligations to the Yulchon Foundation beyond the scholarship.
