Seoul National University’s Institute for Japanese Studies and the University of Tsukuba in Japan will host the Korea-Japan Future Factory Forum 2025, an international collaborative learning program for university students from both countries.
This program aims to provide participants with opportunities to solve societal challenges, create social impact, and generate new value. Through the experience, students will develop as global talents with enhanced skills in "problem-solving, cross-cultural communication, and team collaboration".
Applications are now open for the Korean student delegation invited to Japan. Details are as follows:
1. Program Overview
- Dates: August 25 (Mon) – August 29 (Fri), 2025 ※ Orientation (online): July 19 (Sat), Pre-lecture (online): August 9 (Sat)
- Location: University of Tsukuba Tokyo Campus
- Accommodation: Tokyo Central Youth Hostel
- Participants: 50 students from Korean universities
- Eligibility: Students currently enrolled in Korean universities (regardless of nationality) ※ The program includes 50 students each from Korea and Japan
- Languages: Korean, Japanese, and English (No problem if you're not fluent in Japanese or English)
- Cost to Participant: Participation fee ¥15,000 JPY, airfare, domestic transportation in Japan, and dinners (self-arranged) ※ Travel insurance is required
- Covered by Organizers: Accommodation for entire stay, breakfast, and lunch

2. Program Highlights
- Theme: Develop a social business idea that addresses shared societal issues in Korea and Japan—or even global challenges—by leveraging the knowledge and resources of both countries.
- Activities: Special lectures and workshops by businesses and government agencies, fieldwork in Tokyo, cultural experiences, and sightseeing ※ Top-performing teams in the final presentation will be given the opportunity to further develop their ideas into real social businesses over the course of a year.
