The Learning Data Research Center at the Learning Science Research Institute, Seoul National University, is pleased to host a special lecture titled “The Future of Humanity in the Age of AI” by Professor Sung-Hyon Myaeng (Vice President for Planning and Dean of the Graduate School of AI Convergence Strategy at Taejae University; Professor Emeritus, School of Computing, KAIST).
This talk will explore strategies for collaboration and coexistence between humans and AI, and discuss the core competencies the next generation must develop.

About the Speaker
Professor Sung-Hyon Myaeng is Professor Emeritus of the School of Computing at KAIST and currently serves as Vice President for Planning and Dean of the Graduate School of AI Convergence Strategy at Taejae University. Over the past 30 years, he has published over 250 papers in the fields of natural language processing, text mining, and information retrieval. He has served as a faculty member at Temple University and a tenured professor at Syracuse University before joining KAIST in 2003. At KAIST, he held numerous leadership positions including Director of the Global e-Learning Center, Founding Director of the Graduate School of Web Science and Engineering, Dean of International Relations, Endowed Chair Professor in ICT, and Director of the KAIST–Samsung SDS AI Research Center. His notable publications include The Future of Humanity in the Age of AGI and Experiential Knowledge Mining.

As Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) begins to reshape society, the economy, and culture, its impact on the future of work and employment is expected to be profound. This talk will introduce the direction of education and essential skills needed to prepare the next generation for this transformation.
