Lecture Overview
Speaker: Seung-Wook Han (Professor, Kinki University, Japan)
Prof. Han resides in Kyoto and teaches urban social phenomena in the Department of Architecture at Kinki University. In Korea, he has actively contributed to urban regeneration policies, participating in early-stage designs for projects such as the revitalization of old downtown Busan and the Gamcheon Culture Village urban regeneration initiative.
His current research focuses on the limitations of traditional urban design and new ways cities evolve. This lecture will provide a sociological perspective on Kyoto, commonly seen as a historical city, yet continuously undergoing urban innovation.
