The College of Liberal Studies is pleased to announce a call for new course proposals for “Veritas in Action” as part of the <Veritas> curriculum.
We encourage active interest and participation from faculty members.

※ As the submission deadline is approaching, faculty members wishing to apply are kindly asked to submit their course development proposals in accordance with their college/graduate school’s internal schedule.

About the <Veritas> Common Curriculum Area

The <Veritas> curriculum was newly established to provide students with interdisciplinary opportunities to explore and understand fundamental life themes. Through critical and creative thinking as well as in-depth discussions, the curriculum aims to foster integrative and practical attitudes responsive to the demands of our time.

• Composed of three sub-areas: Veritas Seminar 1, Veritas Seminar 2, and Veritas in Action

• Starting with the Class of 2025, students are required to complete at least one course (3 credits) in the <Veritas> area

About “Veritas in Action”

“Veritas in Action,” the focus of this proposal call, is a project-based learning (PBL) course designed for 30–40 students. It emphasizes student-led, action-oriented projects that engage directly with local communities, thereby expanding the scope and meaning of learning.
Example projects may include creative works, production, design, performances, exhibitions, or policy proposals.

Call Details

• Submission Deadline: By Monday, May 26, 2025
  (This refers to the deadline by which the official document must reach the College of Liberal Studies. Please follow your college/graduate school’s internal schedule.)

• Eligibility: Full-time faculty members (individual or joint proposals)

• Submission Method: Submit the attached Course Development Proposal as an official document from the course director’s affiliated college/graduate school

• Notification of Selection: Expected in June 2025

• Development Period (5 months): From June to October 2025 (after selection)

• Submission of New Course Application Form: By Thursday, October 30, 2025

• Submission of Final Report (including budget settlement): Within 1 month after course development is completed

• Course Offering: Spring or Fall semester, 2026

  • Courses must be offered at least once per year and taught by the developer at least four times
