We are pleased to welcome Seungjoon Lee, CTO and Co-founder of Twelve Labs, as this week’s speaker for the SNU Data Science Seminar.

Twelve Labs is a video search AI startup headquartered in San Francisco and Seoul, and has raised over $110M from top Silicon Valley VCs including NEA, NVIDIA, and Index Ventures. In this talk, Seungjoon will share his journey of building the world’s first industry-grade video understanding foundation models and bringing them to market.

Seungjoon studied Computer Science and Applied Mathematics at Brown University, where he took a leave of absence to co-found Twelve Labs. He was recently named to Forbes 30 Under 30 North America 2025 in the AI category.
