The Seoul National University New Energy Industry COSS is recruiting students to participate in the 5th New Energy Industry Location Analysis Competition as outlined below.

We encourage interested students to apply.

1. Eligibility and Target Participants

• Undergraduate students from universities participating in the New Energy Industry COSS and other related departments in Korea
  (Korea University, Seoul National University, Hanyang University, Kangwon National University, Pusan National University, Jeonbuk National University, Kyungnam College of Information & Technology, Inha University, Ewha Womans University, etc.)

• Teams of 2 people can be formed voluntarily (no restrictions on major)

2. Competition Format

• Submit a location analysis plan related to energy new industries (renewable energy, EV charging stations, etc.), which will undergo a first-round document screening.

• Finalists selected through the review will conduct field visits based on their plans and prepare final presentation materials.

3. Competition Schedule

• Submission of 1st-round plan: Friday, May 16, 2025, by 6:00 PM

• Announcement of 1st-round results: Friday, May 30, 2025 (notified individually via email)

• Field investigation for finals: May 2025 ~ July 2025

• Final presentation: August 22, 2025 (to be held online; detailed schedule will be announced later)

5. Guidelines for Writing the Plan

• Up to 5 pages of A4 paper per team, free format

• Required contents:

1. Research motivation or reason for selecting the region, analysis plan, expected results, and schedule

2. Plan for incorporating feedback from residents in a specific domestic region

3. Use of quantitative analysis methods such as economic or spatial analysis (analysis methods can be chosen freely)

• Finalists will be provided with research activity support funds (partial travel expenses, up to KRW 500,000 per team)

• After the final judging, certificates, and prizes will be awarded under the name of the project director
