Recruitment for the 12th SNURO Mentors (SNU Linkers)

The SNURO program, operated by the Seoul National University Education Cooperation Center, is recruiting mentors (SNU Linkers) for its 12th cohort!

SNURO is a mentoring program designed to help middle and high school students in Siheung City recognize the necessity and value of higher education, build motivation for career and academic goals, and enhance career maturity.

Eligibility

Who Can Apply?

  • SNU undergraduate students (including those on leave of absence)
  • SNU graduate students (Master’s program)
  • Total slots: 40 mentors
  • Applicants must be available for all program activities (see detailed schedule below).
  • Participation in other mentoring programs does not affect eligibility.

Application Period

  • March 4, 2025 (Tue) – March 14, 2025 (Fri) 18:00
  • Additional recruitment: March 20, 2025 (Wed)
  • Interview Dates: March 28 – March 29 (individual schedule to be notified)
  • Interview Format: Online (via Zoom) (Returning mentors are exempt from interviews.)
  • Final Selection Announcement: Early April

Program Schedule & Activities

1. Pre-Training Session (Mandatory)

  • Date: April 12, 2025 (Sat) 10:00 – 15:00
  • Location: Seoul National University (Gwanak Campus)
  • Purpose: Understanding program objectives, mentoring guidelines, and activity structure
  • Failure to attend this session will result in disqualification from the program.

2. Semester Mentoring: Career Exploration & Planning

  • May 10, 2025 (Sat): SNURO Career Festival + Campus Tour (SNU Gwanak Campus)
  • May 24, 2025 (Sat): SNURO Mentoring (Week 1) – In-person at Siheung Campus
  • May 31, 2025 (Sat): SNURO Mentoring (Week 2) – In-person at Siheung Campus

3. “SNURO on the Road” (1-Day Special Lecture)

  • Overview: Mentors visit high schools in Siheung City to give academic and study strategy lectures (2 hours).
  • Schedule: Early July (exact dates to be coordinated individually).
  • Transportation: Shuttle buses will be provided.

4. SNURO Career Bootcamp (5th & 6th Cohorts)

Advanced Mentoring on Study Methods & Time Management

  • Bootcamp 5th Cohort (2 days)
    • July 24 (Thu), 13:00 – 18:00 (In-person, Siheung Campus)
    • July 25 (Fri), 13:00 – 18:00 (In-person, Siheung Campus)
  • Bootcamp 6th Cohort (2 days)
    • July 29 (Tue), 13:00 – 18:00 (In-person, Siheung Campus)
    • July 30 (Wed), 13:00 – 18:00 (In-person, Siheung Campus)

Dates are subject to change based on circumstances.

Target Students

  • 1st – 3rd-year high school students in Siheung City

Mentor Benefits

Financial Support: Up to 2 million KRW (depending on participation in all activities).
Official Certificate: Issued by the Mayor of Siheung City & the Director of SNU Education Cooperation Center.
Awards for Outstanding Mentors.
Networking with mentors from diverse academic backgrounds.

✔ University & Major Exploration – Choose specialized programs with your mentee.
✔ Major Talk Concert + SNU Campus Tour (Gwanak Campus)
✔ Career Activities – Study techniques, time management, and university life.
✔ Career Portfolio Development – Feedback and guidance from mentors.

  • Selection may be limited based on major distribution.
  • Priority will be given to mentors available for all activities.
  • New applicants must submit a video showcasing their mentoring experience.
