Invitation to the Exhibition: "Gyujanggak: A Spectacular Feast of Records Shining Like Stars"
The Gyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies at Seoul National University is pleased to host the permanent exhibition, "Gyujanggak: A Spectacular Feast of Records Shining Like Stars," showcasing the rich and diverse heritage of Korean historical records.
True to its name, Gyujanggak (奎章閣)—established with the aspiration of fostering a flourishing culture of scholarship—continues to preserve and honor the legacy of over 250,000 historical records that shine brightly like stars. In this exhibition, six curators with expertise in various fields, including political history, economic history, modern history, philosophy, archival studies, and art history, have come together to present a selection of invaluable historical records. These treasures, emerging from the archives, are ready to meet you.
The exhibition features National Treasures, Cultural Properties, UNESCO Memory of the World items, and rare historical materials such as old manuscripts, paintings, and modern artifacts that have seldom been displayed publicly. Like constellations adorning the night sky, this exhibition will serve as a guide to exploring the vast universe of historical records.
We hope that everyone who visits Gyujanggak will discover their own star-like treasures among this extraordinary collection.
