The College of Social Sciences is pleased to host the workshop "Raw Data Analysis Using Stata". We invite graduate students and researchers from social sciences and various other fields to participate actively. Undergraduate students and staff members interested in the topic are also welcome to join.
★ Participants are required to bring their laptops and install Stata in advance.
(Stata 18 SE can be installed for free under the campus license software.)
< Workshop Overview >
Empirical research in social sciences begins with the analysis of various raw data. In this workshop, participants will download and analyze raw datasets commonly used in social science research using Stata, gaining hands-on experience throughout the process. The workshop will cover datasets such as survey data from the Korean Statistical Office, panel data from research institutions, international microdata, and country-level panel data.

◆ Introduction to raw data from the Statistical Office, including access via MDIS
◆ Microdata analysis of the Economically Active Population Survey -
1/15 (Wednesday)
Utilizing Panel Survey Raw Data
◆ Overview of panel survey datasets in Korea
◆ Hands-on session with microdata from the Korean Labor Panel Survey -
1/16 (Thursday)
Utilizing International Raw Data
◆ Introduction and hands-on session using international raw data from IPUMS
◆ Analysis of country-level panel data
