1. Writing Style and Language Tips from the ACS Writing Style Guide: Effective Communication of Scientific Information

This workshop introduces students preparing papers in STEM fields, particularly in chemistry, to the grammar rules and conventions outlined in The ACS Style Guide, published by the American Chemical Society. Examples from actual published papers will be presented to enhance understanding of how these rules are applied.
2. Writing Style and Language Tips from Scientific Style and Format: The CSE Manual for Authors, Editors, and Publishers

4. Writing an Effective Resume

This workshop will teach participants how to effectively structure and design resumes to make a strong impression for future employment or educational opportunities. Participants will brainstorm and outline ideas as they begin drafting their resumes. The presenter will provide templates and examples, along with insights into using AI tools for formatting and design. By the end of the session, participants will be equipped to confidently write their resumes independently.
5. Improving Academic Vocabulary

This workshop guides participants on organizing and structuring a cover letter, also known as a job application letter. Strategies for tailoring cover letters to employers’ needs will be shared. Participants will brainstorm ideas and draft outlines for their letters. Additionally, AI tools for drafting and formatting will be introduced. By applying the techniques and resources from this session, participants will be ready to craft compelling cover letters independently.
