During the Cold War and post-Cold War periods, memories of the Resist America, Aid Korea War were tightly controlled among the Chinese public. It was only after the reform and opening-up of the 1980s that the memoirs of Chinese People's Volunteer Army officers were published, and officially sanctioned histories began to emerge, but the topic remained sensitive to the public. Under the leadership of Xi Jinping, the politics of memory surrounding the Resist America, Aid Korea War has been reorganized. This forum will explore how this war, which lingered on the periphery of public narratives for over half a century, has recently reentered collective memory in China. It will do so through an analysis of Chinese films, dramas, and literary works, examining the process and significance of this resurgence
