This colloquium will explore the book The Surveys and Statistics of the Japanese Government-General of Korea, which examines the issues surrounding surveys and statistics conducted under colonial rule. From investigations conducted during the Residency-General period to the statistical work undertaken by the Government-General of Korea—including population, natural environment, customs, daily life, body measurements, individual identification, and social surveys—the book sheds light on how these activities were carried out and their broader implications. We invite you to join us in this meaningful discussion with the author.
