“The Reality of Algorithmic Fairness and the Role of Social Sciences”
As artificial intelligence increasingly takes on roles traditionally held by humans in knowledge production and societal governance, we may be witnessing the last generation to directly experience these human-led processes.
This lecture explores the application pipeline of algorithms in society, focusing on the normative concept of fairness as a representative issue. Prof. Sohn will discuss how social sciences, which study humans and society, can adapt their roles in this era of coexistence between algorithms and human societies.
Prof. Sohn specializes in social science research methodologies, computational social science, political sociology, and AI governance.
