The Faculty of Liberal Education is recruiting students to participate in the 2025 Spring Semester Independent Study Courses (Independent Research, Independent Seminar).
This program allows undergraduate students to form teams of 1-3 members to explore academic topics of their interest through autonomous research or seminars over one semester while earning elective general education credits. We encourage interested students to apply!

- Application Period: Monday, November 4, 2024 – Friday, December 6, 2024
- Application Process:
- Check the announcement on the Center for General Education website and apply via the mySNU portal under [Academic Information] > [General Education].
Steps to Apply:
① Download the application form from the announcement on the Center for General Education website.

- Required documents:
- Research/Seminar Proposal
- Faculty Advisor Approval Form
- (Optional) Department Recommendation Letter
② Log in to the mySNU portal, go to [Academic Information] > [General Education], and fill out the application. Upload all required documents.
- Application Path:
- mySNU portal > [Academic Information] > [General Education] > [Independent Study Program] > [SDE Application History].
- Select "Independent Research 1, 2" or "Independent Seminar", complete the application form, and upload the necessary documents.
Note: Starting from the 2025 Spring Semester, the course names will be updated:
- “Independent Research 1” → Independent Research: Exploration
- “Independent Research 2” → Independent Research: Advanced
