The 6th lecture in conjunction with the exhibition Writing with All One’s Heart: Kim Yoon-sik’s History of Modern Korean Literature will be held, and we invite many to participate.
- Lecturer: Professor Cho Young-bok (Kwangwoon University)
- Title: Kim Yoon-sik and the Study of Modern Poetry
- Date: Friday, November 15, at 3 PM
- Location: Video Room, Exhibition Hall (B1), Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies
This lecture will explore what poetry, or the poetic, meant to Kim Yoon-sik, focusing on his lifelong literary theme of the “illusion of ecstasy.” The session will include related artworks and music. As Kim expressed, "For those whose feet are grounded on earth, this illusion entering the realm of celestial order is religious or poetic," highlighting his Shinaburang Theory as a possible metaphor for the “misuse for truth.”
