Recent advancements in information technology and artificial intelligence are transforming 21st-century human life in unprecedented ways. However, the rapid pace of technological change also brings unexpected challenges and conflicts. Korea and Japan, as countries at the forefront of IT and AI development, offer important insights into the socio-cultural impacts of these technologies.
The Institute for Japanese Studies, with support from the Toshiba International Foundation and the National Research Foundation of Korea, will host an international symposium titled "Information Technology and Korean-Japanese Society: Hyperconnectivity, Cyberspace, and Artificial Intelligence." This event is designed to explore the forefront of Japanese studies through the lens of IT and AI, as well as to examine the potential for comparative research.
Through three focused panels on IT ethics, the intersections of AI and art, and the current and future of Vtuber research, this symposium will explore the latest research and developments in both Korea and Japan. We invite all interested to participate in this engaging academic event.
