The featured book for this Book Concert, “A Truly Good Attitude” (2022), was also one of the winning selections in the Diversity Book/Movie Recommendation Contest held in May in celebration of World Day for Cultural Diversity (May 21). The event speaker is the book’s author, Park Ji-hyun, with Professor Kwon Suk-in from the Department of Anthropology acting as the moderator.
Park Ji-hyun, the author, has worked as a documentary director for KBS's Documentary 3 Days and tvN’s You Quiz on the Block. During the concert, she will share her experiences from over 15 years of travels, meeting a wide range of people from homeless individuals to presidents.
Min Na-young, a student from the College of Liberal Studies who recommended this book in the Diversity Book/Movie Recommendation Contest, wrote, “We might think that only a group of unique individuals can represent 'diversity,' but even stories of ordinary people create diversity. In A Truly Good Attitude, Park Ji-hyun gently shares the meaning and attitude of life that she learned from the many people she met during her work on Documentary 3 Days and You Quiz on the Block.”
She further added, “The stories of various people living their lives in their own colors set an example that reassures us that living our lives by cherishing what is important to us is enough.” This book concert is expected to provide a moment of reflection and reassurance through the author’s deep insights into the lives of many different people observed over the years.
This event was designed to foster a culture of mutual respect and understanding based on diversity. The winning books and recommendations from the Diversity Book/Movie Recommendation Contest, including A Truly Good Attitude, can be found on the Diversity Committee's website at Seoul National University.
Seoul National University’s Central Library aims to enhance its role as a multifaceted cultural space that integrates knowledge, information, and cultural content, promoting library engagement through its Knowledge-Based Cultural and Arts Sharing project.
