2024 Winter Global SNU Volunteer Corps Recruitment

The Global Social Responsibility Institute at Seoul National University operates the "Global SNU Volunteer Corps" to fulfill the university's social responsibility and nurture talents with both excellence and a sense of contribution. We are recruiting volunteers for the 2024 winter term to participate in social contribution support projects in various countries, including Uganda, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, and Nepal.

1. Application Period: September 23 (Mon), 2024 - October 6 (Sun), 2024

2. Dispatch Countries: Uganda, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, *Nepal
*The Nepal program is a new type of SWP+SR program that combines the SNU in the World Program (SWP) organized by the Office of International Affairs and the SNU Volunteer Corps activities of the Global Social Responsibility Institute.

3. Target Applicants
① Student Volunteers: SNU undergraduate and graduate students interested in overseas social contribution
※ Students on leave of absence are also eligible, but must be able to participate in all scheduled activities outlined in the recruitment notice.
② Advisory Volunteers: SNU members (currently enrolled in or above master's programs) or alumni with a master's degree or higher in related fields or with relevant experience
③ Video Production Volunteers: SNU undergraduate and graduate students capable of creating a short video (under 3 minutes) and a longer video (around 10 minutes) along with a photobook documenting activities
④ Language Volunteers: SNU undergraduate and graduate students proficient in local languages with experience in interpretation and translation (Uzbekistan only)

4. Eligibility (Common)
● Must be able to participate in all regular and ad-hoc meetings (refer to the recruitment notice for details)
● Must be passionate about the activities and actively participate in the full schedule
● Must be adaptable and flexible, with no fear of new environments and cultural changes
● Must have a passion for ongoing social contribution and volunteer activities after the program
● Must be interested in international development cooperation and community contribution

6. Participation Fee: 1.2 million KRW (Uganda), 800,000 KRW (Uzbekistan, Indonesia), Nepal (no participation fee)
* Airfare and personal meal costs for Nepal are not included and must be covered separately.

7. Main Activities by Country

● Uganda SNU Volunteer Corps: Collaborate with local volunteers from Gulu University's College of Education to provide arts, physical education, health-sharing, and cultural-sharing activities for elementary school students in Gulu, Uganda.

● Uzbekistan SNU Volunteer Corps: Work with universities in Samarkand, Uzbekistan to deliver educational sharing activities for kindergarten children, hold educational seminars with early childhood educators, and engage in cultural sharing activities with the local Koryoin (ethnic Korean) community.

● Indonesia SNU Volunteer Corps: Collaborate with Mataram University in Lombok, Indonesia to provide education programs on Korean language and computer skills, aimed at improving the employability of young people who are not in education or employment. Activities include developing programs to strengthen job and entrepreneurial skills, setting up local support systems, and conducting a graduation ceremony.

● SWP+SR SNU in NEPAL: A new type of SWP+SR program that combines the SNU in the World Program (SWP) with the SNU Volunteer Corps activities of the Global Social Responsibility Institute, focusing on arts and physical education based on SDG implementation in Nepal.
