Human Rights in the Digital Society
Under the theme "Human Rights in the Digital Society," remote lectures will be held every Thursday from October 14 to November 7, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. In modern society, where digital technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), are rapidly advancing and reliance on new technologies is increasing, there are concerns that technological development intended to improve the world might instead exacerbate existing inequalities or create new forms of human rights violations. Human rights can be seen as a crucial value that sets standards for ensuring that digital technologies are designed and implemented fairly as society progresses. This Open Human Rights Lecture series aims to explore the multifaceted relationship between digital technology and human rights through various issues arising from the integration of new technologies, such as AI, into different aspects of society, and to consider the direction of technological development from a human rights perspective. We invite those interested in this topic to participate actively.
