18th Kyujanggak Korean Studies Summer Workshop, 2024
This summer, the Kyujanggak Institute of Korean Studies will host its eighteenth Summer Workshop for Korean studies. The workshop aims to give graduate students in Korean studies or Korea-related subjects the opportunity to further their understanding on research trends in various fields of Korean studies. This event will be conducted in-person starting from July 8th to July 19th, 2024.
Lectures will cover research methods, trends, and approaches in many different fields: history, history of science, mass media, classical literature, modern linguistics and literature, gender studies, philosophy, religion and education, art, North Korea relations, etc. SNU faculty members will participate as lecturers.
Each session will take 2 hours, consisting of 90 minutes of lecture, 30 minutes of discussion and a presentation session towards the end of the program. In the afternoon, students who have registered can take an introductory class for reading classical Chinese texts composed in Hanmun. Lectures and discussions will be in Korean or English.
