○ Abstract of the lecture: This talk specifies an exhaustive system of estimation which sets all economic inputs (both paid and unpaid work) against all outputs (final products from both market and non-market production). A final section provides a demonstration of how these inputs and outputs may be converted into the final outcomes of economic activity in terms of their consequences for health, happiness and (though not discussed here) environmental change. Together these inputs, outputs and outcomes provide an integrated “dashboard” of indicators of national product and individual wellbeing. The paper makes no money-based estimates of national product, instead separately estimating UK time allocations to work and consumption, and flows of intermediate commodities from the money economy into household-based production.
