KIM Hyung Ho, Professor of General Surgery at SNU Bundang Hospital succeeded in gastric cancer surgery.

Until now gastric surgery accompanies resecting a huge proportion of the stomach, including lymph node even for early-stage patients. To prevent such excessive removal, Professor Kim focused his study on minimizing the resection and finally came up with the Gastric Cancer Sentinel Lymph Node Surgery. With this method, lymph nodes doesn't have to be cut off if the cancer has not developed in that area.

Kim advised gastric cancer patients to supple vitamins through fresh vegetables and to receive therapies with a strong will to overcome the disease, not to mention avoiding drinking and smoking.
