Professor Sul Seung-Ki (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering) won three individual awards from the Industry Applications Society (IAS) and the Industrial Power Converters Committee (IPCC) of the IEEE. Papers that were submitted to the association’s journal Transactions on Industry Applications during the previous year are eligible for the IAS paper awards, and Professor Sul’s papers won both the first and second places. The first place paper is DC-link Voltage Stabilization for Reduced DC-Link Capacitor Inverter and the second place paper is Six-Step Operation of PMSM with Instantaneous Current Control. He also won a first place paper award from the IPCC, a sub-committee of the IAS, with his paper Common-mode Voltage Reduction of Three-Level Four-Leg PWM Converter. The awards ceremony took place at the 2015 IAS Annual Meeting held in Dallas, Texas.
