Professor Lee Byoung Ho’s research team (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering) has developed a color filter that can display all three primary colors. Currently, a series of colors is generally expressed by a combination of at least three primary color pixels. Professor Lee developed a structure comprising a metal cavity and a nanoaperture, also referred to as a cavity-aperture, to simultaneously control the color and intensity of transmitted light in a single pixel. This design method may be helpful in developing various photonic devices, such as micro-imaging systems and multiplexed sensors.
